The Spanish Honor Society is planning several events for this school year.

Advisor Ms. Angela Hunter said members recently participated in the trick or treat night in the high school gymnasium by dressing up in costumes and handing out candy to people who came in to trick or treat.

According to Ms. Hunter, the club is currently participating in a project called Operation Christmas Child. She added Operation Christmas Child is a shoebox project where the club members donate items to fill a shoebox for kids who would not get anything for Christmas. She added that toys, dolls and school supplies are good items to fill a shoebox with.

Ms. Hunter said they are also creating club t-shirts for Spanish Honor Society, which is an annual fundraiser.

According to Ms. Hunter, the club is joining other clubs to participate in a coordinated fundraiser called Put a Child to Bed, which is an effort to help families with children. She said this fundraiser will raise money to buy beds for children who do not have a bed and cannot afford one. She added that a bed is $200.  Ms. Hunter said the club is still discussing on how to fundraise for Put a Child to Bed.

The officers of Spanish Honor Society are all seniors and include Kylie Roup as president, Allison Embeck as vice president, Dominic Savidge as secretary, Eric Baker as treasurer and Tori Brink as historian.
