Milton musicians advance to SVB

On Nov. 19, eight Milton students successfully auditioned for Susquehanna Valley Band (SVB), according to Band/Music Teacher Ms. Alyssa Williams. Senior Sarah Flynn, Senior Lucy Bower, Junior Morgan Solomon, Junior Rebecca Geher, Junior Ian Walter, Sophomore Kayli Johnson, Sophomore Lucas Hower and Freshman Arella Sandrick all qualified for SVB, she added.

Sarah got first chair for trumpet and Lucy got first chair for the euphonium, according to Ms. Williams. SVB will be held at Lewisburg High School on Jan. 10-11.

Ms. Williams said auditions for District Band will be on Sunday, Nov. 24. The results will be posted the week after, she added.

The Milton High School Band has a holiday concert in the high school auditorium on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m.
