Panthers plan prom
The last two years Milton has not had a school sponsored prom due to COVID-19. This year the prom is being planned as normal, with the juniors and seniors being the only ones able to purchase tickets according to Ms. Adami.
The prom is being planned for May 7 at Wynding Brook Golf Club in Milton. The theme is Las Vegas.
The school will be hosting the prom as of now, and that entitles the prom committee to have to follow the district health and safety plan, for any changes or updates on the masking policy, said Ms. Adami.
“Let’s hope we are back to a normal, student sponsored prom,” said, Ms. Sharon Adami, who was the former food director at Milton and is the Class of 2023 Advisor.
“I suppose there is always uncertainty,” said Ms. Adami. As of now, they are planning the prom as normal, keeping the uncertainty in the back of their minds.
The junior class has fundraised for many years which resulted in a good chunk of money for the prom committee to use to plan the prom, said Ms. Adami.
“The Senior Class has generously donated the DJ that they were unable to use last year,” said Ms. Adami. This will be a huge help to the prom budget but we will continue to raise funds to keep the cost of the tickets reasonable, she added.
“Ninth through twelfth graders are allowed at the prom, no middle schoolers and you must be under 21 to attend,” said Mr. Rantz.
Tickets will go on sale a month prior to prom, Ms. Adami said.
