Senior skit roasts up some holiday fun

The senior skit will be held on December 22. Students will be dismissed from third block to the auditorium until the end of the day.

Family Consumer Science teacher Ms. Angela Davis and Art Teacher Ms. Lauren Richie both helped to organize the senior skit.

Ms. Davis said she and Ms. Richie have only been in charge of the Senior Skit since 2019. Co-principal Mr. Andrew Rantz said he does not know exactly how many years the senior skit has been a tradition, but according to Mr. Rantz it has been at least since the year 2000.

Ms. Davis said students will give her and Ms. Richie the names of teachers that they want to make fun of, and they send an email out to the teachers letting them know that they have been selected.

“Usually there is only a very small handful of teachers that don’t want to be made fun of. For the most part everybody is a good sport,” said Ms. Davis.

Ms. Davis added that when setting it up there is always someone who is going to be the narrator. She added that the narrators will write the story with the help of Ms. Davis and Ms. Richie.

Ms. Davis said that students will say which teacher they are going to make fun of and tell her or Ms. Richie what they are going to do to make fun of them.

“When they do their story, we pick a traditional Christmas story and they pick whichever one they want to use. We start writing (the skit) so that it sounds like the traditional Christmas story, but we write their little skits into it,” she explained.
