Yee-haw, prom takes on Nashville
The 2023 Milton High School prom will be held at Birchwood Barn Venue in Milton on May 6 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The promenade will be at 6:30 p.m., and crowning of the king and queen will be at 9 p.m.
The prom theme for 2023 is “A Night in Nashville.” The ticket price will be determined after The Class of 2024 holds another fundraiser selling apple dumplings, different breads, and Easter cookies to cover expenses, said Ms. Emery-Seibert.
The prom will be hosted by the Class of 2024 Prom Committee, which is advised by Mr. Seth Reitz and Ms. Jamie Emery-Seibert. Ms. Emery-Seibert said that juniors hosting the prom has been a tradition for as long as she can remember. Juniors plan the prom so that the senior class can arrive and enjoy themselves, she explained.
The prom is being held at Birchwood Barn Venue, which is located at 571 Industrial Park Rd, because it is a local establishment, fits the “Night in Nashville” theme, and was available for the date, said Ms. Emery-Seibert.
According to Prom Committee President Junior Leah Willow, the “Night in Nashville” theme was selected because students were searching for something rustic, country and original.
“It was something I’ve personally never seen before… for a prom, so I thought it would be cool,” said Leah.
Junior Zoe Letteer, another student on the Prom Committee, added students were talking about the theme “Night in Nashville” before the 2022 Prom had happened.
“It was buzzing before it was brought up to the Prom Committee,” added Zoe.
