Agriculture Teacher Ms. Hannah Davis’s first-year teaching schedule includes Agriculture 1, Agriculture 2, Environmental Health and Plant Science.
With her bachelor’s degree in Equine Business Management from Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, Ms. Davis said she is also able to teach therapeutic horse-riding lessons.
“I grew up riding horses and participating in 4H and FFA. Ag had always impacted my life in some way,” she said.
Originally Ms. Davis said she went to college to become a vet, but added, “I quickly realized I wouldn’t be able to handle putting down someone’s animal.”
Ms. Davis said she is enjoying her first-year in Milton. “It feels like I don’t have a job because of how fun it is,” she added.
“My biggest challenge with my first-year is trying to figure out how long certain lessons will take,” said Ms. Davis, who added that she grew up in a family with teachers.
CTE Paraprofessional Ms. Jennifer Mabus covered for the classes at the beginning of the year before Ms. Davis was hired. She said Ms. Davis brings a different background, and she brings a different flair to her classroom.
One thing Ms. Davis said she is looking forward to is being able to teach animal science and plant science. “We have lots of labs and dissections for both,” added Ms. Davis.
“Something to know about me is I like to try new things and love to travel,” she said. “My favorite place that I have traveled is either Wyoming or Montana,” added Ms. Davis.
When she is not teaching, Ms. Davis said she likes horseback riding and spending time with friends. “I do have one horse of my own,” she added.
