Recently seniors had the opportunity to prepare for the adulting world with a Reality Fair.

Co-Principal Mr. Andrew Rantz said the event in the gym prepares seniors for upcoming financial decisions.

“This is a simulation, put on by the Service First Credit Union, to put students through scenarios of how to properly budget their money,” Mr. Rantz said. Gaining this experience is very important before graduation, he added.

The goal for the Reality Fair is to help students understand how much money they are going to make in their desired career pathway, said Mr. Rantz.

He explained that they are taught how to budget their income vs. expenditures, and how much services actually cost.

Senior Rachel Gensel said the Reality Fair showed how much internet, entertainment and food costs in the adult world.

“It showed that things really do add up when you’re the one paying for it,” said Rachel.

Prior to this year the last time the Reality Fair took place was 2019, prior to the Pandemic, Mr. Rantz said.
