Student Leadership to combine clubs
The newly formed Student Leadership club was created to replace the PBIS club.
Math teacher Ms. Roberts said that many student leaders are involved in more than one club, and all of those clubs are all trying to reach the same goals and do the same things.
“We are going to combine Student Government and Student Leadership together,” Ms. Roberts said.
The idea was a collaborative decision from several teachers including Ms. Roberts, Ms. Angela Ranck, Ms. Lauren Richie, Ms. Angela Davis, Ms. Casie Baker and Ms. Kathy Bower.
“The goal of Student Leadership is to boost student morale in the building while also improving student behavior,” Ms. Roberts said.
Art teachers Ms. Baker and Ms. Richie will take charge of Student Government activities like Homecoming and the Powder puff football game, added Ms. Roberts.
Ms. Roberts added that she and Ms. Ranck will be in charge of the Student Leadership side of things, like the school store, monthly socials and other student activities throughout the year.
Even though PBIS is being replaced, the school store will continue to operate. It will just be under the name of Student Leadership, Ms. Roberts explained.
The club will go into effect at the beginning of the 2023- 24 school year.
