Mr. Jason Locke is the new criminal justice teacher at Milton High School. He said he
has an extensive history in the subject of law and crime from being a law enforcement officer for
25 years.
Mr. Locke said he graduated from Lock Haven University and he then made his dream
of law enforcement a reality by becoming a member of SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics)
with the Pennsylvania State Police. Mr. Locke added he also enjoys most outdoor activities like
fishing, sports, and coaching Milton‘s football and wrestling teams.
Mr. Locke explained that his goal is to inspire and make an impact on all students who
join his classes. While there have been many difficulties for him being a new teacher, he said he
pushes through with determination to make sure his students have a comforting and safe learning
environment.
For anyone looking to pursue a career in law or criminal justice, Mr. Locke said he hopes
to be not only a teacher, but a friend. “I want to make an impact, to have a lasting effect on these
kids.” he added.
Mr. Locke has coached both wrestling and football for 20 years. He said he has taught
before, but not in a school setting. He has taught many classes in firearms and tactical topics
while being the leader of his SWAT team.
One quote Mr Locke used to represent himself is “No matter where you go, there you
are,” as an inspiration for him to continue moving forward.
Mr. Locke is seen as a devoted and dedicated man around the school district, said
Principal Mr. Michael Bergey.
“Mr. Locke is a kind and humble man who genuinely cares about kids and loves working
with them,” he added. “So far, Mr. Locke has embraced all of the challenges that come along
with working with teenage students and is doing an excellent job. He is an extremely positive
addition to our high school staff here.”
“What I can tell you is that I respect Mr. Locke as a human being and so far, what I see
the same can be said for him as a teacher. His genuine passion for working with young people
clearly shows in his teaching,” Mr. Bergey added
